Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said since the beginning of Tehran Plasco building's fire and eventual collapse, all necessary measures had been taken for security and safety of the German, Turkish and British embassies in the neighborhood.

Qasemi, while voicing deep sorrow over the incident, said the diplomatic police, relief-aid workers and police as well as the protocols department of foreign ministry had taken all the safety and security measures for the purpose.
The spokesman made the announcement on certain reporters' questions on the fate of the embassies in the neighborhood following the incident.
He said all the three embassies are fully controlled and safety and security measures are in place.
The fire started in the 17-storey business building in the early hours on Thursday. It remains to be unclear how the fire began.
The tower building was built in the early 1960s and it was the tallest building in the city at the time of its construction.
A large number of businesses in the building were believed to be involved in the textile and garment industries.
