Regarding the latest situation of the legislation of the launching of juvenile police unit, the judicial deputy of the director general of public and revolutionary courts of Tehran, Ghavam Forouzan said: "this legislation is being written in the research centre of the Judiciary and getting ready to be sent to the Parliament."

According to Mizan news agenc, forouzan said: "the improvement of the children's rights situation in juvenile courts and the promotion of the rights child victims of crimes and buse and illegal exploitation must be observed in every department in accordance with principles and the law."
Stressing on the effectivenessof the Shahid Fahmideh Judicial Complex regarding the realization of this matter, and the continued follow up from this Complex he added: " the judicial deputy of the Shahid Fahmideh Judicial Complex regularly attends themettings of the Judiciary's research department, and takes the necessary measures for the writing of laws regarding children."
Forouzan went on: "In the new Criminal Justice Act Guidelines, it has been foreseen that juvenile police unit must be launched, and said that in cases where the victim is a girl, a married woman police officer who preferably has children will be used to interview and investigate thecase, and must always carry a juvenile police unit identity card at all times."
According to the head of the Shahid Fahmideh Judicial Complex in view of the measures that have been taken make childre and juveniles a social matter, fundamentally the child and juvenile complex is the only special judicial complex for children and juveniles in the country, and this type of complex has not been set up in any other province of the country. Only branches of courts have been allocated to this.
The head of Branch 97 of Tehran Province said: "our judicial colleagues do their hardes towards the dignified reintegration of children and juveniles to normal living, as a main objective and work hard towards the facilitation of these conditions."
Stressing that during the investigation of crimes and the breaking of the law by children and juveniles, the objective is not punishment, explained: "the rehabilitation correction and re-socialization of these children is the only objective of the authorities, and theuse of the term punishment is rejected and training and teaching is the main objective of the justice system and other departments in this regard."
The head of the Shahid Fahmideh Judicial Complex pointed out the numerous cases where the punishment for a crime that for an adult is for example life imprisonment, for children under 18, our judges ultimately the holding of the juveniles in the Correctional and Reform Centre for five years, till they are guided to healthy and dynamic living."
Forouzan said: "child and juvenile special court judges must choose a non-judicial approach, because the clashes of micro-cultures, the abuse and divorce of parents, and also the existence of dangerous gangs and the sexual trade of children are all instances that threaten individuals under eighteen."
The judicial deputy of the director general of public and revolutionary courts said: "Today in most executive, social, cultural and legislative areas attention to children's rights and child oriented views in all policy settings (educational, cultural, social and legal) and criminality disassociation policy are all a part of the development process of the country, and they must matter in the natural judicial concepts."
In the end the head of branch 97 of Tehran province said: "currently it has been legislated that if breaking of the law instead of harsh punishment for children and juveniles, a more gentle reaction and without mental and physical punishment is adopted, and the ultimate aim is to take them out of official criminal courts."
